Another Lu Roo & Co collaboration with Marie Grace Photography was the "Gimme Some Lovin'" giveaway. Late last winter, we opened up to have women nominate someone they know and love or even themselves to win a pampering session! As women ourselves, we know how important it is that we take care of ourselves and take time for a little self care. Of course, that's always easier said than done. Sometimes there just isn't enough time. Or enough help. Or enough money. We get that. So we wanted to give back to five women in the community. To give them a little time to feel special and appreciated. To feel seen. Each of these five women won the opportunity to have a spray tan, professional hair and makeup done, TWO ENTIRE (yes, from head to toe) outfits and a photo shoot. The nominations poured in. In fact, I believe there were over 200. It was so humbling to go through them and read the stories of the nominations. And it was SO hard to choose. So, so hard. Somehow we managed to get it done, and we set the date to have the lovely ladies come in for their pampering day. On a gorgeous May Saturday, five incredible women came in to the store. And each one of them touched our hearts. Their stories had a mix of struggle, determination and sheer heartbreak. But on this day they got to feel appreciated. They felt beautiful. And their smiles were so big. It was an honor to be a part of this collaboration and I am grateful to all of the businesses and to the 5 wonderful, strong women.
